So like I said way back, I bought a Minolta AL-F camera at a garage sale for $5. It seems to work fine, the light meter doesn't work, and I won't really know until i gewt the first roll developed, but here's hoping. Anyways, here are some pictures of my beauty.

Well! Anyone who goes to the main page here, will notice that in this week's spotlight, there is the glorious community known as
fotojournals that I help mod with
cookies. Things over there are crazy what with the membership going up 500% overnight. This community is so going to rock the socks. So if you haven't already, go over and join there, it's where I'll be spending all my time.
So today I went on another little adventure (again, around three hours) I went to do training for my new job, and it's pretty much the worst place to work at ever. So I decided I needed some fresh air. My dear
crassy said that if I didn't take pictures at the cemeteries nearby she would do something really bad. So rather than risk that, laced up my shoes and was out the door.

Wow, it's been a while since I've updated with some pictures! We've pretty much gotten settled in here, I found a job that I start tomorrow, it seems kinda iffy at this point, I'm still looking for jobs. But it should keep me out of trouble for the most part. Today I went on a little (read: 3 hour) adventure to the fabulous Don Valley Brickworks. Built in 1889, it has since been abandoned and is currently being restored into an information center or some such. The majority of the structures have fallen into disrepair making it a fabulous place to explore. Those pictures will be going over to
fotojournals though. Here I will share with you some of the pictures from the naturalized area that once used to be the clay quarry and was filled in from the excavation of the Scotiabank tower downtown (I think.)
So here we go!

Just because I'm cool like that, I have this! http://hooliism.myminicity.com/ go forth and make my city awesome!
Also, I just bought a Minolta AL-F at a garage sale for $5. I don't know if it works, th battery was somewhat corroded, but otherwise it looks to be in excellent condition, which is impressive because it's 40 years old. I'm so excited for this :D

Allllrighty! So since Wednesday morning, I have been constantly moving. We have just stopped to relax and enjoy our new place about an hour and a half ago. We aren't done yet, there's still a few things in Holly's car, and we have to set up the dining room and clean the kitchen, but we're done for this week. Holly's mom and sisters are coming over tomorrow so the place looks presentable enough. As promised, here are a few pictures of the apartment!

Well everyone, we have successfully moved, I am now officially a resident of Toronto Ontario! So anyone else who lives here/nearby, we have to make plans and hang out. I've been too busy unpacking and shopping and being too tired and sore to move, but today we should have everything close enough to how we like it and I'll be able to go out and take pictures. The weather's been kind of crappy anyways so it's no big deal that I haven't yet. I have managed to take one picture of a building nearby that's being torn down. Don't expect too much from me though. This is just to let those who care that I'm all settled in.

Okay, so everyone here has to join
fotojournals because I said so. It's LJ's newest, awesomest photography community run by none other than
cookies!! And once she gets around to it, I'm sure she'll make me a mod as well, she's just busy. At least that better be her reason...
No time for a big story today, just some randoms.

Lots more here! Enjoy :)</lj>

So holly and I went to the park yesterday for a picnic because we're awesome like that. It was pretty much the second worst possible outdoor lighting conditions (very bright overcast) but I think I managed to pull through, at the very least these are fun.

We've been pretty busy lately, getting ready to move and packing and all that stuff, but I have been taking a picture or three in my spare time. Here's a few random ones I've taken lately.

Yeah, it's cliche, Spring =s flowers, but whatev, I'm exhausted. I wish I could sleep in, but I can't, and naps don't really seem to help too much. Ah well. Here's some flowers from my mom's garden.

Edited to add my DITL that I shot yesterday which can be found here.

I was sitting around and cleaning yesterday. Right up until the point when I noticed it was 24 degrees out. I put on my chucks grabbed my camera and was out the door before my computer had shut down.

I was talking to the always wonderful
frostapostraphe this afternoon, and she suggested that for today's adventure, I do it at night, and so I did. It's been a while since I've gone out for pictures at night, So I agreed and said it seemed like a good idea. So everything I post here tonight, she gets partial credit for. That having been said, I am so happy with how these turned out, I can't even say. I love them. Each and every one of them. And I hope you do too. I walked downtown, then strolled up and back down the main strip, getting a slice of pizza on the way. It was pretty busy, and I loved the feeling of it. Lots of energy and the weather was gorgeous.
Bear with the fact that most of these aren't straight. I decided to not take my tripod and just use what I could find to keep my camera steady, garbage cans and ledges and the like.

The other day I wandered over to the bog to see that it had completely flooded right up to the boardwalk. That coupled with the fact that it was a gorgeous day, made for some neat pictures :)

So on Sunday, it was a gorgeous day. Couldn't ask for better, so the lady and I decided that we needed to get out of the apartment and do something. Solution? Steal Borrow my parent's van and hit the beach. The only problem with borrowing the van, is having to spend time with them as well. But! They had tiny little crocuses blooming in the front yard which made me very happy.

So I went back to that swamp area again first thing this morning, it was a gorgeous day, couldn't ask for better. It was pretty cold though, so I dressed up, but I'm tough.

On a nicer day than today (the sun was out and shining for a grand total of five minutes) Holly and I took a walk to the construction site next door, it was the Saturday between Good Friday and Easter Sunday so I was pretty sure there wouldn't be anyone around, but we didn't go very far in just in case. I'm not impressed that this is the closest I've been to urban exploration. Maybe I'll go over there after dark and see what I can find.

Today started as many do, with breakfast!

We had borrowed my dad's car the night before to go see a movie and hang out with friends, that was lots of fun, the movie, 21, was alright, I'd give it a 6.5/10. So after getting ready for the day, we went downtown so Holly could get her train tickets, then we were held up by a random parade of people with Greek and Canadian flags, so that was kind of annoying because there were no roadblocks or police anywhere. But we navigated through there with minimal casualties and made it to a place to eventually park. So we wandered aimlessly, briefly before going to Tribal Mountain, it's a wicked cool fair trade store and bought a small clay vase from Mexico and a banana leaf lamp that owns. Then we went to my parent's for pancakes and eggs, socialized a bit there then they brought us back home.
After we got back home, Holly kicked me out so she could do some music recording and work on some songs she's been writing and gave me the task of finding some dogwood twigs for our new tiny vase. So there's a small little area near our apartment that's heavily wooded and we had seen some red bushes in there before so I decided to go into this new area that I hadn't explored before and find some twigs. Here's what I found.
Rather than a forest, after about 50 meters it opened up into a huge swampland. There was some evidence of a beaver dam and lodge, but it could just have easily been kids or a coincidence. And by the way, if you're not in the mood for the colour brown, don't look any further.
I honestly don't know what I would do without my rubber boots, they're my best friends. I'm going to go back if tomorrow's an nicer day to see if i can squeeze some colours out of the place. I'll keep y'all posted.

Sup! So yeah, today I took 535 pictures in total in two separate excursions, of those 535 photos, I uploaded 95 to my flickr, and there ain't no way I'm putting 95 pictures here, so you can see them here instead. Thank you and goodnight.
Like I said sometime last week, I went to the dog park with my family, it was a really nice day out and I'm happy with some of the shots I took, so here are my faves.

So since all my other photos have disappeared, here's a new batch.
I went on a four hour adventure today, and after I post this I'm having a bath then a nap. I went to Springbank park, which is always a nice place to be, and today certainly didn't disappoint. I didn't even have to wear my winter coat, it was such a beautiful morning! I hope you'll excuse the spots, my camera is filthy and I can't seem to get it clean. Bah.

So last night I decided I was going to put all my photos on Flickr set to "private" for no apparent reason other than I was bored. So when I woke up this morning, lo and behold every picture I've put on LJ or anywhere else has disappeared! Oops, sorry about that folks, I'll put some more stuff up in a bit.
